Plants of Placerita Canyon - Docent Class, Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 9:00 a.m. to noon, Placerita Canyon Nature Center, Santa Clarita, CA.
Gabi and Cliff will teach the Plant portion of the course which runs from January through March for new docents at the Placerita Canyon Nature Center.

California Native Plant Society program meeting, Thursday, January 26, 2012, 7:30 pm, Eaton Canyon Nature Center, Pasadena, CA.
Gabi will host the monthly program of the San Gabriel Mountains Chapter of CNPS.
We will have an interesting speaker on a topic of native plant gardening, conservation, plant identification, or another California native plant subject. This will be Gabi's last program as the president of the chapter.

Weed War in Angeles National Forest, Sunday, April 22, 2012, from about 8:30 am until 3:00 pm, Angeles National Forest (Location is dependent on hillside conditions)
Cliff and Gabi will work with Angeles National Forest botanist, Katie VinZant, and other volunteers to remove alien plant species invading the Station Fire burn zone and other areas of our backyard Forest. Tools and instruction provided. Boots, gloves, long- sleeved shirts, and pants mandatory. This is dirty and at times physically demanding work. Bring lots of water, lunch, and enthusiasm to work as little or as much as you want. Contact us the week before, for destination, meeting time and location.

Gabi and Cliff will hosts this annual workshop. Many of the region's best naturalists will present programs and lead habitat walks in and around Camp Metoche, in the San Bernardino Mountains.
